Our Motivation = The Love of God

In a world where despair, hatred, and shame have become commonplace, one light shines through.

One Glorious Light.

This truth is so profound, so tremendous, so overwhelming, that it could honestly change everything. It could change the way you live. It could change your priorities. It could change the way you feel about those you encounter. It could change your view of the poor. It could change the way you view your past, present and future. It could change the way you deal with your sorrows and joys. It could change your view of yourself. It could change your lifestyle. It could change your goals. It could change your purpose. It could change everything.

In a world where people so often turn to others for meaning, purpose, validity, clarity, and self-worth, this one truth shatters every presupposition.

The God of all time, who dwells not in temples made by human hands, nor needs anything of his creation, this independent, all-powerful, all-knowing Savior dwells in all holiness above this wretched and depraved planet. He is right in judging it, and, at the end of time, will burn the elements of this earth with an ultimate eternal fire that will bring to end man's rebellion for eternity.

The truth about this God, this terrible, majestic, tremendous God, is that He loves us.

He loves us. He loves you. He loves me. He loved us when we were in sin. He loved us when He rescued us from our sin. He loves those he chose and those that are outside of His fold. He loves us despite our rebellion, despite our ignorance of Him, despite our fallenness and our wicked hatred of Him.

He desires now that we would lay aside all that distracts us and pushes us far from Him.

This truth naturally begs the question...what is holding you back?

For me, a desire for a good, comfortable, loving relationship with a beautiful woman did me in. I became obsessed with the idea from childhoood, and my Hollywood fantasy often leaves me despondent and absolutely numb towards life. Often I find myself unable to live another day without the fulfillment of this desire. "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Eph. 2:4-10)

This God saved me. He saved me from His wrath, and now He is continually showing me that life with Him is far better than anything (including a healthy marriage) this world could offer.

So...

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of Earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

Grace and peace be with you all through the might and power of God our Father and His Son Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever. Amen.
